The charter of the Java Card Forum is to:

  • Give visibility to the market on solutions for smart card operating systems, stressing specification proposals, flexibility and multiple applications solutions;
  • Promote interoperability of smart card applications and products;
  • Ease creation of products for the whole transaction chain, smart cards, terminals and their applications.
Members of the Java Card Forum have chosen to develop their new families of multiple-application products around the Java Card API specification issued by SUN Microsystems.
